Husband/Father/Retired Homicide Detective/Author/Mentor

In 1995, Chris Anderson followed his mother’s footsteps and began his career with the Birmingham Police Department, fulfilling his lifelong dream. His passion for law enforcement and its invaluable role in society continues to drive him 27 years later. His extensive training and experience in homicide investigations led him to solve over 92% of his murder cases with a 100% conviction rate.
He’s also proficiently handled investigations involving robbery, burglary, and narcotics. Some of his best years in law enforcement were spent on A&E’s First 48-Birmingham as one of the fan favorite detectives. In 2011 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, but his successful stint on the popular series has led to more commanding roles and opportunities.
In 2016, he retired from the Birmingham Police Department and now co-hosts the investigative series “Reasonable Doubt,” which airs its fifth season on Investigation Discovery (also known as the “ID” channel), As Sgt. Anderson seeks the truth about the conviction of the accused; his communication skills, sensitivity, and long career in investigating crime shine through.
While Sgt. Anderson is not filming; he volunteers as the Mentoring Director for the 100 Black Men of Metro Birmingham. He also leads the investigative team for District Attorney Lynniece Washington’s “Conviction Integrity Unit.” He is also a Criminal Justice Instructor at his alma mater Talladega College.
